A hotel lobby can be more than just an entryway or check-in area. It can also be a place for work, play, or even a hand-crafted martini. The newly-renovated lobby at Gates Hotel Barcelona Diagonal is just that, offering guests a comfortable refuge for their needs in a modern, smartly-designed setting.
The lobby revamp was part of a renovation project encompassing the entire hotel, from its rooms to its public spaces, completed on Sept. 14.
Our lobby’s new design mixes organic elements of marble, wood, brass and lush plants to create a calm space bathed in natural light. Beyond the limitations of a simple entryway, our new lobby is complete with comfortable couches and work tables to accommodate guests.
While you’re in the space, enjoy works by local contemporary artists. Take a photo in front of the mural of Barcelona’s iconic cityscape by García Hernández. Furnishings such as sofas, benches and lights from Valencia designer Interdecor make for an intimate, comfortable space to converse, work, or relax.
Heading out for the evening? Loosen up with a quick game of billiards before you set out. In the same area you can enjoy a nightcap after an evening out. Cozy up to our fireplace with a cocktail made fresh from the cocktail bar.
Aside from the versatile lobby space, there are other renewed areas within the hotel for guest use. Have some drinks and conversation at our idyllic beer garden located at the foot of Barcelona’s most recognizable building, the Torre Glories. The green space reflects the nearby Plaça de les Glòries, which is undergoing renovations of its own to convert the transportation hub into an ecological urban space.
Our upstairs Diagonal 205 Skyview Bar + Lounge also offers freshly-made cocktails and sweeping, panoramic views of the city. During the summer, guests can enjoy pool access. Want something to eat? Our onsite Piano Restaurant offers traditional Spanish fare prepared by our renowned chef with fresh, local ingredients.
