Attention jazz fans, the Voll-Damm Barcelona International Jazz Festival will once again be taking over Barcelona from October 17th - December 19th, 2017 with another stellar program. This world famous festival attracts jazz’s heaviest hitters and the most promising up-and-coming talent. Here’s a peak at the schedule for October:
October 1 - November 25
Jean-Pierre Leloir (photographer)
In July 2017, famed French photographer, Jean-Pierre Leloir, published a collection of photography, featuring jazz performers from 1931-2010. His collection will be on exhibit for free at Fnac Illa Diagonal.
Tuesday, October 17
Diana Krall
Hot off the release of her new album Turn Up the Quiet, Grammy-nominated Diana Krall will be at the Auditori del Fòrum for a highly anticipated performance. Tickets start at 40 €.
Wednesday, October 18
Hiromi duet ft. Edmar Castañeda
Japanese jazz pianist Hiromi will be performing a duet with Colombian harpist Edmar Castañeda. The two have been touring across the world together since April and turning heads everywhere they go. They’ll be performing at Parts and tickets start at 18 €.
Thursday, October 19
Logan Richardson
American alto saxophonist and composer Logan Richardson will be performing at Conservatori del Liceu. Tickets are 28 €.
Friday, October 20
Ambrose Akinmusire
Critically acclaimed American jazz trumpeter and composer Ambrose Akinmusire will be performing at the Conservatori del Liceu in support of his latest album, A Rift in Decorum: Live at the Village Vanguard. Tickets are 33 €.

Carlos Caro y Sabor Cubano
Enjoy some great latin-flavored jazz at the Harlem Jazz Club. Tickets start at 12 €
Saturday, October 21
Lisbon-based, Catalan reeds player Albert Cirera returns to Barcelona to delight his home city with powerful jazz improvisations. He’ll be joined by Tres Tambors at the Luz de Gas. Tickets start at 15 €.
Wednesday, October 25
Chicuelo Monvínic Experience
Guitarist Juan Gómez “Chicuelo” will be joined by vocalist Joaquín Gómez “El Duende” and percussionist Isaac Vigueras “El Rubio” to form a Catalan supergroup known as the Chicuelo Monvínic Experience. Catch them at the Monvínic. Tickets are 85 €.

Kenny Washington & Ignasi Terraza Trio
American jazz drummer Kenny Washington and the Catalan Ignasi Terraza Trio will be performing at Luz de Gas. Tickers start at 25 €.
Friday, October 27
Sai Trio
With Agustí Fernández on piano and Ivo Sans behind the drums, the two provide the soundtrack for dancer Sònia Sánchez to memorize you. The San Trio brings together jazz music and dance for a unique and fascinating avant-garde performance. They’ll be at the Luz de Gas. Tickets start at 18 €.

Mezquida - Aurignac - Prats
The Spanish jazz trio known as MAP, or Mezquida - Aurignac - Prats, will be delighting audiences at the Conservatori del Liceu. Tickets start at 18 €.

Hip Hop MC Oddisee and his band Good Compny will embark on the Beneath The Surface Tour in support of their new record The Iceberg. Rock/soul artist Olivier St. Louis will be supporting the tour. See them when they hit the stage at Luz de Gas. Tickets are 18 €.

Aaron Goldberg Trio
Described by The New York Times as a “post-bop pianist of exemplary taste and range,” American jazz composer Aaron Goldberg will perform with the Aaron Goldberg Trio at the Conservatori del Liceu. Tickets are 30 €.

Estrella Morente
Spanish flamenco singer Estrella Morente will be performing at the Palau de la Música Catalana in support of her 2016 album 15 Años con Estrella. Tickets start at 18 €.
